Sri Lanka: A Brief Interlude - 7 Days/6 Nights

Covering the cultural and historical highlight of Sri Lanka for those travellers who only have a few days to spare

Day 01

Meet and assistance on arrival at the airport by your tour manager and transfer to your hotel in Colombo.

 
Day 02

After breakfast transfer to Habarana , en-route visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage, The Golden Temple and 2nd century old Dambulla Caves.

Day 03

Take an excursion to Polonnaruwa known to be the second ancient capital of Sri Lanka. Later that day climb the world heritage listed Sigiriya rock fortress to visit 5th century ruined palace on its summit.

Overnight at Cinnamon Lodge, Habarana

Day 04

Dambulla – Kandy

Travel to Kandy and visit 2nd century old Aluvihara Temple at Matale where Buddhist preaching was recorded for the first time. In the afternoon visit the sacred temple of Tooth Relic one of Buddhism most sacred sites believed to hold an actual tooth of the Buddha rescued from his funeral pyre.

In the evening enjoy a Kandyan cultural show.

Day 05

Kandy

Enjoy your leisurely breakfast and relax at the hotel or explore local market for souvenirs.

Day 06

Kandy – Colombo

Day 07

Colombo departure

After leisurely breakfast enjoy a city tour and finish with a transfer to the airport
